          Abstract

          Zusammenfassung. Die Erhebung des Wohlbefindens von Kindern ist von standardisierten Beobachtungsinstrumenten geprägt. In diesem Beitrag wird das Potenzial eines ethnografisch-praxeologischen Zugangs für die Child Well-Being-Forschung untersucht. Anhand einer praxeologischen Rekonstruktion einer körperlichen Herstellungspraxis in einer Kindertageseinrichtung werden Potenziale und offene Fragen dieses analytischen Zugangs aufgezeigt. Durch die ethnografische Beobachtung rücken die Handlungsvollzüge bei der Herstellung von Wohlbefinden in den Fokus. Gleichzeitig lässt sich auch mit diesem Zugang die Problematik einer adultistischen Bewertung vorerst nicht aufheben.

          Observing Children's Well-Being. A Practical Approach to Reconstructing Children's Well-Being

          Abstract. Assessment of children's well-being is characterized by standardized observational instruments. This article analyzes the potential of a practical ethnographic approach to research on children's well-being. The praxeological reconstruction of a bodily practice of establishing well-being reveals both the potentials and the unanswered questions emerging from this approach. The ethnographic perspective focuses on children's practices in constructing well-being, which leads to an active and contextual understanding of well-being. However, the problem of evaluating observations from an adult-centered perspective cannot fully be overcome.
