          Abstract

          This paper discusses specialized translation as an object of both Specialized Communication Studies and Translation Studies. After defining the concept of specialized translation and its many different forms, the author deals with text varieties, translation methods, the translation process and its agents, translation competence and translation problems in order to find out what is ‘special’ about specialized translation and how to teach it.
