            Abstract

Mine waste water management is a concern to mining stakeholders in Kenya and th world at large due to the call of sustainable mining practices and the feasibility of using saline water for domestic and agricultural practices. Innovative tecgnology and processes heeds to this call with the application of natural occuring diatomaceous earth in the desalination of the mine water. This in the post Covid era caters for food security and provides water both to the miners and the surrounding communities hense contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
