Abstract

El autor recorre la historia del cine en Colombia en sus primeros años, desde 1915 a 1933. Analiza el carácter de las producciones pioneras, entre ellas, las películas realizadas por los Hermanos Di Doménico y propone reflexiones sobre el miedo a verse como país. La moral tendenciosa, la tragedia pasional, la construcción del melodrama son algunos de los tias que propone el autor en su lectura de los inicios sociales del cine en Colombia.

The author presents an overview of the history of cinia in Colombia during its early years—1915 to 1933. He analyzes the nature of pioneer productions—among thi, the movies of the Di Doménico brothers—, and reflects on the idea of seeing the country projected in films. Tendentious morality, passionate tragedy, and the construction of melodrama, are some of the topics presented by the author in his reading of the social introduction of cinia in Colombia.
