The Dynamic Brain by Björn Brembs

Nervous systems are typically described as a static network passively responding to external stimuli. However, for more than a century now, evidence has been accumulating that this passive-static perspective is wrong. Instead, evidence suggests that nervous systems dynamically change their connectivity and actively generate behavior in order to control their sensory feedback.
