Burleigh Dodds Science Publishing is an award-winning independent publisher of content in agricultural and food science. Through our innovative publishing model, we bridge the knowledge gap between science and its application, enabling and empowering you to make a positive impact on sustainable agriculture, climate change and the UN Sustainable Development Goals

 

We now boast over 125 published titles and 2000 chapters, including our growing library of Open Access chapters. We anticipate adding a further 300 chapters to our database and over 20 books in 2023.

With over 125 published titles and an extensive forward programme, our books cover the major crops and livestock types. This includes each step on the value chain for their production, from breeding through to harvest and the final product.  

Our books are designed from extensive customer feedback and are edited and written by internationally renowned experts. Through our publications we will help researchers identify key issues and trends and find their way more quickly to the research most useful to them, allowing them to plan their own research programmes and link up to other research centres to collaborate more effectively.

ROB BURLEIGH MANAGING DIRECTOR 

Rob has over 25 years experience in the publishing industry.  Previously the Finance Director at Woodhead Publishing, Rob and Francis Dodds founded Burleigh Dodds Science Publishing in 2015 alongside former directors of Woodhead Publishing.  Speaking about the reason for publishing in agriculture science;

FRANCIS DODDS EDITORIAL DIRECTOR 

Francis was Editorial Director at Woodhead Publishing and has worked in the industry for over 35 years.  An Oxford University history graduate Francis has successfully commissioned in several scientific and technical subjects such as the internationally recognised food science list which was acquired by Elsevier in 2013 as part of the sale of Woodhead Publishing.

AMANDA RENWICK CONTENT DELIVERY SPECIALIST 

Amanda is an MA publishing graduate who studied at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. She is a graduate of Greenwich University where she studied English Literature, majoring in Creative Writing. Amanda’s desire to work in publishing has been well supported by some prestigious work experience assignments at Bloomsbury, Penguin Children’s unit, the educational publisher, Rising Stars and a short stint with us prior to joining the team in January 2017. Amanda’s role is to manage the delivery of content and production processes. 


KATHERINE LISTER MARKETING EXECUTIVE 

Katherine is an MA Publishing graduate who attained her degree from Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge. She was awarded a Postgraduate Bursary from The Stationers' Company in 2018 to support her studies, as well as support in the form of a mentor. Katherine also completed her BA Hons in Creative Writing and English Literature at Anglia Ruskin University. After completing a brief internship in 2018 with us, she was offered a full-time position in 2019. Katherine's role is to forge and develop relationships with key stakeholders in the agricultural science community, from academia and research to those working in the industry.
