Aya Okada is a professor at Tohoku University in Japan. Trained in sociology and policy studies, she specializes in civil society studies with a particular interest in understanding the role of nonprofit organizations and voluntary actions in contemporary Japan. She has published articles in journals such as Voluntas, Journal of Nonprofit Education and Leadership, Voluntaristics Review, and The Nonprofit Review.
