          Abstract

The concluding chapter provides a recapitulation of how Asian celebrities exemplify the ethics and ethos of activism and philanthropy in transnational cultural networks, gesturing toward an imaginary of cosmopolitical Asia. It reiterates how cosmopolitics viably functions as the key frame to ponder Asian celebrity-activists and philanthropists by advancing a vision of a “multiverse” rather than an already unified cosmos or a single world. Recalibrating the largely contested conception of Asia, the previous chapters have exhibited how the celebritised causes in Asia can shape a fluid and capricious Asianness that underlines transient affinities, displaced subjectivities, and diverse connections. This chapter concludes with the reassertion of this attempt to motivate a methodological reinvention of the study of Asian celebrities in the global matrices stamped by multimediated voices, technological realities, and humanitarian sensibilities.
